Sharjah Coop 2025–Present

Sharjah Coop app icon: the Coop Online wordmark over the UAE flag

Retail e-commerce and quick commerce for a Sharjah government entity, rebuilt from a legacy Flutter codebase while the app stayed live in both stores. Money moves through it, so most of the engineering below is about payments, integrity and cost.

The rebuild

Started from

A legacy Flutter codebase, already shipping to both stores and already carrying real customers.

Rebuilt into

A codebase the team can keep shipping from, rebuilt in place with no pause in releases.

25+

epics delivered while the app stayed live in production.

Payments and integrity

PCI DSS aligned

Payment flows built to the standard, not around it.

PII minimised

Personal data kept out of storage, logging and analytics wherever the feature does not need it.

Samsung Pay, natively

The vendor SDK is Android-native, so it is reached through a Flutter platform channel rather than a wrapper package.

Play Integrity

Android device and app integrity checked before privileged flows run.

App Attest

The same guarantee on iOS.

The Maps bill

~65%

lower Google Maps
Platform costs

01

Request batching

Related lookups go out together instead of one per interaction.

02

Caching

Results that do not change are not paid for twice.

03

Debounced geocoding

Typing a search no longer bills a request per keystroke.
